The Role:
McElmeel Mobility Services are currently recruiting for the role of an experienced Procurement Officer based in our manufacturing facilities in Armagh, this is an excellent opportunity for you to join an exciting and expanding Company.

We are proud to be the longest established Company in the UK and Ireland converting, adapting and supplying a wide range of vehicles for disable drivers and passengers with a passion for customer care and have built our reputation on customer service and innovation. 

You will be working as a key member of the team, establishing the procurement role to support operations and R&D.  Responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and working with suppliers to ensure a smooth production flow.



Responsibilities:

  • Plan and place purchase orders for production and general consumables using MRP system,
  • Management of purchase orders from order placement to delivery to Stores,
  • Maintain accurate purchase order data, including delivery dates, prices, and elevating delays to relevant stakeholders,
  • Forecasting demand and order scheduling,
  • Management and reporting of supplier delivery performance, including stock levels,
  • Sourcing and establishing new suppliers with engineering to enhance current supply base,
  • Conduct supplier negotiations and establish price structures for parts and materials,
  • Monitoring market demand and supply for products,
  • Negotiate and develop supplier SLA's,
  • Work efficiently with Engineering and R&D for new product development,
  • Communicate with operations management about their requirements,
  • Visit suppliers as and when required,
  • Managing purchase orders, overseeing supplier delivery schedules, and maintaining purchase records.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience of procurement within the manufacturing / engineering industry,
  • Experience of working within an MRP / ERP platform
  • Strong organisational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships,
  • Be self-motivated with excellent communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to prioritise tasks whilst managing own time effectively,
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365,
  • Full driving licence.
