Based three miles outside the City of Armagh, we supply converted and adapted vehicles across Ireland and the UK. The Role:
Central to everything we do, a vehicle fitter is responsible for the conversion of standard vehicles into wheelchair accessible vehicles. McElmeel Mobility Services have an industry leading amount of European Type Approved conversions and you will be expected to work on a range of vehicles converting them to the highest standards.

  • Understand the build process expected.
  • Cut out/modify the floor of the vehicle to prepare for conversion.
  • Fit conversion and ramp.
  • Fit Wheelchair and Passenger Restraint systems.
  • Fit and wire other accessories on request i.e. winch.
  • Build conversions to set times.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • 3+ years relevant experience.
  • have the ability to think on the move.
  • Has the skills to find solutions in challenging situations.
  • Own your own tools.
  • A great work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent time keeping.
  • Pride in quality workmanship.
  • Initiative to work alone as well as successfully within a team.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to embrace change.
  • Ability to follow instructions and execute effectively.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
