Ford Connect Free

The Ford Connect Free from McElmeel Mobility Services sees the return of our small and compact Ford converison, updated to compliment the new edition Ford Connect. 

Available privately or through the Motability Scheme, the short wheel base Tourneo Connect is the perfect small sized family car bringing the wheelchair passenger to the centre of the vehicle. Once again, the McElmeel Mobility Services approach to family focused WAV design ticks all the boxes.

The combination of low floor and low angled ramp means the Free is a user friendly vehicle. When stowed, the ramp folds in two and locks in place to give you a quiet travelling experience with clear views out your rear window. 

Available in zetec or titanium, manual or automatic, the Free is a highly specced car coming with Rear park assist, DAB Radio, Cruise control, Electric Fully Opening Rear Windows and Bluetooth as standard. Other optional features include 6” touch screen, rear view camera, front parking sensors, wireless charging pad, Sat Nav, and the panoramic roof and heated seats which are standard in the Titanium. 

With driver, front passenger and 1 rear seat as standard, you can add isofix options. The flexible design means you can bring the wheelchair into the centre of the vehicle, or taller users can sit further back for the extra head room. Our versatile seatbelt clicks in to an easy to reach seatbelt stalk and is adjustable to allow for easy use and proper and secure fit for tricky wheelchairs.

The Free is popular with scooter users. Quicker and easier than using a hoist, the Free makes every journey easier and more enjoyable.

The SWB Connect Free has full European type approval and carries PAS accreditation making it available on the Motability Scheme. McElmeel Mobility Services are the first WAV convertor in Europe to hold QVM accreditation from Ford and as members of WAVCA and in cooperation with the VCA, our vehicles have been rigorously tested to ensure the safety and comfort of your wheelchair passengers
