Job Vacancy - Company Accountant




Overview


Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Company Accountant to lead the finance department and become an integral part of our team. We are the leader in our industry in adapting and converting vehicles for disabled drivers and passengers and we are situated in the greater Armagh area. The position offers an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to progress within a high growth and internationally trading company.




Skills and Experience

Working directly to the Management Team, the position will involve:
  • To make a significant contribution to the ongoing success of the business as part of the senior management team
  • Lead and inspire the Finance function across the company. Ensure the organisational structure and training are in place to motivate and develop the team including credit control, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll and receivables, management accounting and critical financial planning and analysis.
  • Manage the treasury function for the company to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective movement of funds throughout the business, given the multi-currency nature of various sales and purchasing transactions.
  • To play a leading role in the day to day financial and accountancy function including:
      Preparation of monthly management accounts and month-end closing, ensuring accurate financial results are reported on a timely basis
       - Coordination of results and reporting within the company
      - Managing the group reporting for the company
      - Managing the statutory audits for the company
      - Development of key KPI's for reporting and operational management
  • Provide effective commercial procedures, or initiate change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
  • Contribute to the strategic plans through the implementation of a robust corporate financial strategy, which will meet the future demands and growth plans of the business. Evaluate and appraise investments, capital expenditures and financing of projects and provide guidance and recommendation.
  • To assist the SMT in the production of strategy documents and associated forecasts, annual budgets or analysis of performance as required for both internal and external use.
  • Overseeing working capital management strategies within the company;
  • Willingness to contribute effectively to the commercial strategy of the business; and
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines maintaining attention to detail.

This position will suit an ambitious and confident communicator who has the necessary drive to work in a busy office environment as an integral part of the team to ensure that customers receive the highest level of service and care.

Applicants should be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA) or have suitable experience of working in a similar role within a finance department and be able to clearly demonstrate relevant experience in the above duties.



Key Criteria

  • Post qualification experience working within a finance department or within an accountancy practice demonstrating relevant experience for this role;
  • Strong experience in establishing KPI's and establishing finance reports to measure performance against budgets;
  • Have experience of, and be the catalyst for, the delivery of business improvement projects;
  • Strong understanding of multi-currency transactions and strategies to mitigate currency risk;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good ability to multi-task;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team;
  • An enthusiastic ambitious positive self-starter;
  • Highly motivated with an ability to take ownership and with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure; and
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.


Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of Xero Accounting Software and Unleashed
  • Clean Full Driving Licence
