The Role:

The Quality Control Officer will be responsible for quality control checks on all vehicles adapted for wheelchair access and driver adaptations ensuring they meet the required high standard that the Company expects.  Full training will be provided.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for checking incoming new and nearly new vehicles to ensure they meet the required standard,
  • Examine the product to ensure the production process has been followed and that the finished vehicle conforms to the McElmeel quality standard,
  • Ensure each product complies with legal and quality standards/type approvals and that VIN Sticker is most up to date,
  • Clearly communicate with Fitters and Valet to ensure vehicles are moving promptly in line with production schedule,
  • Work with the production planning team to ensure you have a quarterly understanding of workload,
  • Liaise with Production Manager to ensure all job cards maintain a consistent level of information,
  • Ensure measuring equipment is functioning properly, calibrated where required and any issues are reported to Management,
  • Maintain all documentation for the purpose of auditing,
  • Guide the production staff about quality measures at weekly toolbox talk and where required, address issues to Production Manager and other production team members if applicable,
  • Be punctual in reply to emails addressing production related issues,
  • Recommend modifications to already existing production standards within the limits of available equipment, capacity and approval,
  • The job role may include other reasonable duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post and the needs of the organisation in order to develop and maintain service delivery.



The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role,
  • 2+ years quality control experience in production or manufacturing,
  • Full Driving Licence,
  • A great work ethic, with a positive can do attitude.
  • A thorough understanding of quality control principles,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Confident, collaborative and possess a "can do" approach,
  • Excellent timekeeping,
  • Excellent attention to detail,
  • Good time management skills,
  • Ability to follow instructions and execute effectively.
