As the largest manufacturer of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles on the island of Ireland, McElmeel Mobility are one of the foremost suppliers of vehicle adaptations and conversions onto the Motability Scheme. Through supplying WAV's and adapted vehicles - new, pre loved or through our hire service - our work has a direct and meaningful impact on the everyday lives of disabled drivers and passengers across the UK and Ireland.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as HR Manager, leading all HR operations across the organisation.

This is a stand-alone role where you will shape our employee experience, support our managers, and ensure our people-practices reflect the values that have guided our family run business for over 75 years.

This role offers the perfect opportunity for an ambitious individual who is ready for the next step in their career as it offers real growth. The role includes a 2-year training plan that will take someone on their career journey to undertake NEBOSH qualifications to guide and support our Senior Managers as we work towards ISO 45001.


The Role


As our HR Manager, you will take ownership of the full HR lifecycle, including:

  • Recruitment, onboarding and offboarding,
  • Payroll preparation and time management,
  • Absence, leave and attendance management,
  • Employee Relations,
  • Health & Safety,
  • Staff Wellbeing,
  • Training and Development,
  • Performance Management,
  • Operational & administrative HR management.

Your work will help ensure our teams feel supported, informed and empowered - so they can continue delivering exceptional service for and to our customers.

What you'll bring:

We're looking for someone who is confident, capable, and ready to take the lead:

  • Proven experience in a stand-alone HR or people operations role,
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent),
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice,
  • Experience with time and attendance systems,
  • Confidence managing employee relations,
  • Excellent organisation, communication and minute taking skills,
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision,
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach.

Hours of work.

Monday - Thursday: 9.00am-5.30pm
Friday: 9.00am-4.30pm
