Wheelchair Accessible Taxis

McElmeel Mobility Services supply a range of vehicles which can be used as a wheelchair accessible taxi under the recently updated legislation in the UK and Ireland. Although the guidelines have pan-european roots, the Republic of Ireland advice shows some slight difference from the UK in some of the critical measurements. Please see the table below for comparison.

McElmeel's have Full European Type Approval on our conversion of the Ford Custom and Ford Connect and both these models can be configured to suit the required Taxi Specifications required. The Connect is available as a rear access with 3 seated passengers and 1 wheelchair passenger. The Custom can be either side access or rear access and can have up to 8 passengers including 1 wheelchair passenger.

Taxi's are available for demonstration and test drive.

Please contact your local liscencing authority for the most up to date information.
